I am Jolita Mikolaitytė, 33 years old. I am a communicative, creative, curious, and active person who constantly strives for growth. I often hear that my energy is the kind that people simply enjoy being around and want to return to. My greatest passion is creative dreamcatcher workshops. I have over six years of experience in these educational sessions, where I help others discover their creative potential, show them how to calm the mind, and relax through creativity. People are often surprised by how deeply they relax during the creative process — they lose track of time. For many, this is a completely new experience. The present moment still feels like magic and a new discovery for a lot of people.

My journey into creating dreamcatchers began eight years ago, during a difficult emotional period after a personal loss. Two years had passed since the loss, but I still couldn't manage my internal struggles. I was overwhelmed and filled with anxiety. One day, I stumbled upon a video about making dreamcatchers. Although I didn’t understand the technique or the meaning, I felt an inner impulse to try it myself. That impulse became my lifeline. While creating dreamcatchers, the sadness and anxiety faded, and the creative process brought peace and joy. I eagerly awaited the moment each day when I could create again. Through creativity and self-development, I began to see the colors of life once more and learned to enjoy each day. Now, I want to share this joy with others because I’ve noticed that today’s fast-paced life makes us forget the most important person — ourselves.

Creative dreamcatcher workshops are a great way to relax and calm the busy mind. I also take time with participants to reflect on dreams and how to capture them — because dreams are our driving force, the reason we get out of bed in the morning.

During the workshops, I introduce the history of dreamcatchers and guide each person through the creative process to make their own unique dream talisman. These sessions foster creativity, improve focus, encourage a sense of connection, spark curiosity, and develop motor skills. Not to mention the noticeable sense of calm that everyone experiences.

According to Native American beliefs, dreamcatchers protect against bad dreams and attract the good ones, making their creation not only fun but also meaningful.

My very first dreamcatcher was made from simple cardboard and thread. Later, I started using jewelry I no longer wore, and that’s how my creative journey began. As a nature lover, I try to conserve resources and use beads and threads sourced from all over Lithuania. I receive materials from other creators or people who tried crafting but didn’t enjoy it — they donate threads, beads, wool, and other supplies. I always carefully inspect, disassemble, wash, and reuse everything in the workshops. This matters to me. It’s easy to throw things in the trash, but where do they end up...? Guided by this mindset, I also teach participants how to continue creating with simple materials they can find at home.

The creative process brings me great joy, and I’m constantly discovering new ideas and techniques. I especially love custom orders, where I can collaborate with clients to match colors and details. I’ve also created a new product in Lithuania — scented dreamcatchers, which are especially loved by drivers and aromatherapy enthusiasts.

The next NEW IDEA I’ve created and will soon present is affirmation dreamcatchers. I love being the first to try something and to discover unique concepts. I hope you’ll love them too.
